GUDANSWR
A daily word game where your score depends on the crowd.
Every day there’s one new edition with five questions. You get 60 seconds total to type an answer for each one. Quick instinct usually beats careful thinking.
Your score is based on how many other players gave the same answer you did. The most popular answer for each question is worth the most points. Less common answers still score, just less. If nobody else said what you said, you get zero. Skipping is fine. No penalties.
Here’s the part that makes it different from other daily games: there’s no answer key. Today’s scoring comes from what yesterday’s players typed. The most common responses become the scoring grid for the next day. So every game you play is helping decide what counts as right tomorrow, for everyone else.
As Keynes once described picking stocks, it’s like a newspaper contest where you pick the faces you think other people will pick as prettiest, and that is pretty much GUDANSWR with fewer faces and more time pressure.
When you finish you get a share card with your score and how the board graded each answer. You can post it anywhere without spoiling the questions for people who haven’t played yet.
One edition per day. When the clock runs out on it, it’s gone. No replays, no catching up.
GUDANSWR is an independent project. No accounts, no logins, no mandatory sign-ups.
