Privacy
We don’t store anything about you except answers you submit and any email you voluntarily provide.
No accounts. No logins. No mandatory sign-ups. Nothing to leak.
The answers you type while playing are only used to score your current game. They never leave your browser.
After your game ends, we ask if you want to help build tomorrow’s board by sending in your answers. If you say yes, they’re saved as anonymous text tied to a prompt and a date: no name, no IP, no device ID. If you say no, nothing gets sent.
Your streak is kept in your browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device. Clear your browser data and the streak goes with it. We never see it.
We don’t use analytics tools that fingerprint you, and we don’t set tracking cookies.
After your game ends, you can optionally give us your email address to get a daily reminder when the next game is ready. If you do, your address is stored in our hosting infrastructure and used only to send those reminders. Nothing else. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Delivery is handled by Resend. You can also unsubscribe any time at /unsubscribe.
That’s the whole policy. If it ever changes, we’ll say so here.

Who runs GUDANSWR

What we collect, and why
- Survey submissions. If you opt in after a game, your typed answers are stored as anonymous text tied to a prompt and a date. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). We use them only to build future boards and aggregate scoring data.
- Email address (optional). If you choose to receive daily game reminders, we store your email address to send those messages. Processed by Resend (resend.com). Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email or at /unsubscribe.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically records standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested URL) for security, abuse prevention, and basic operational metrics. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Logs are retained per Netlify’s default policy and are not joined to your survey submissions.
- Local storage. Your streak and game state are stored in your browser’s localStorage and never transmitted to us.
Retention
Anonymous survey submissions are kept indefinitely as part of the historical scoring dataset. Email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe, after which the record is marked inactive (never deleted outright, so old unsubscribe links remain valid). Server logs follow the host’s standard retention (typically up to 30 days). You can clear local storage anytime through your browser.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws like the GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), or equivalent regulations, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, withdraw consent, or object to processing. Because survey submissions are stored without any identifier tied to you, we usually can’t locate “your” specific entries, but you can still email hello@gudanswr.com with any request and we’ll do what we can. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Children
GUDANSWR isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has submitted survey data, contact us and we’ll remove it.
International transfers
GUDANSWR is hosted in the United States. If you access the site from outside the US, your request data will be processed in the US under our host’s standard safeguards.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and post a note on the site. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
